Born in Dundee, Scotland, I grew up in an American household, straddling the worlds of Southern US culture at home and Scottish culture on the street. At age ten I moved to a hidden-away town in a German valley of the Dreiländereck, three country-corner of Germany, France and Switzerland. My studies in English Literature brought me to the US, with a brief stint in Orvieto, Italy, followed by a move that transformed many of my ideas of culture. I arrived in Kosova as a fresh college graduate, and spent the next three and a half years making it one of my many homes. Currently residing in Stockholm, Sweden, I continue writing, chronicling, drawing: digging ever deeper into the link between place and poetry, image and home: the raw reality of where we dwell, and the dreams that move us onward.
